Frequently Asked Questions
Sprenger offers a full continuum of care including short-term rehabilitation, skilled nursing, long-term nursing care, memory care, assisted living, independent living, respite care, hospice, home health, and outpatient therapy across our communities in Ohio and South Carolina.
Short-term care focuses on recovery after a hospital stay or illness and includes skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and respite stays with the goal of returning home. Long-term care supports ongoing needs such as daily nursing care, memory care for dementia, or hospice for comfort-focused support.
Skilled nursing provides 24/7 medical care by licensed nurses and therapists for complex needs or post-hospital recovery. Assisted living offers help with daily activities (bathing, dressing, medications) in a more independent, residential setting without continuous skilled medical care.
Memory care is specialized support for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias. It features secure environments, structured routines, and programming designed to enhance safety and quality of life. At select Sprenger facilities, staff receive Dementia Live® training, an immersive simulation that helps caregivers experience the sensory and cognitive challenges of dementia. This builds deeper empathy and leads to more compassionate, person-centered care at our facilities.
Respite care is a short-term stay that gives family caregivers a temporary break while their loved one receives professional care, meals, activities, and support at a Sprenger facility. It is ideal for planned breaks, caregiver recovery, or trial stays.
Sprenger provides physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and specialized rehabilitation programs (cardiac, orthopedic, neurological, respiratory, and more) to help residents regain strength, mobility, and independence after illness, injury, or surgery. Outpatient and home health options are also available.
Yes. Many of Sprenger’s locations offer multiple care levels at various facilities on the same campus or within the Sprenger network, making it easier for residents to transition as their needs change while staying in a familiar environment whenever possible.
