Working in Health Care
At Sprenger Health Care Systems, we believe that by taking the best possible care of our residents, everything else will follow. For that reason, we utilize a comprehensive hiring process to screen all employees* to make sure we're offering a safe, compassionate, and fun environment to everyone who enters our communities.
Before hiring, every team member must complete a state criminal background check, and provide either five years proof of residency or an FBI background check. Background checks are required to ensure the safety of our residents and employees. Click here for a complete list of prohibited convictions in Ohio. After an offer of employment is made, we require a medical examination, including a lift evaluation, to be completed prior to beginning with us. The offer of employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of these tests.
Absenteeism adversely affects our ability to serve our residents. For this reason, we hold our team members accountable to their commitment to arrive on-time for all scheduled shifts.
Providing a professional workforce is extremely important to us. Uniforms are required. Brightly colored, extreme hairstyles or do-rags are not permitted. Vulgar tattoos or tattoos on the neck or face must be covered. Piercings other than in the earlobes are not to be visible.
* Employees are all hired and employed by Grace Management Services, Inc.
All of our available positions can be found online by clicking here and searching for the facility or area of your choice. Please check back frequently for updated job opportunities.
There are many great career opportunities for candidates that don't require a license or certification in a particular area. For these candidates, we would encourage you to explore open positions in dining services, housekeeping/laundry, maintenance, and some administrative positions. Please refer to the individual job postings for a list of specific requirements for every position.
You should receive an email confirmation for any fully submitted applications. If you would like to talk to someone directly about your application, please call the Director of the department that you applied to. For instance, if you apply to be a Housekeeping Aide at Anchor Lodge you would call Anchor Lodge and ask for the Director of Housekeeping.
You can also fill out our employment inquiries form.
In healthcare, we have certain requirements we must meet during the hiring process. Your hiring process will consist of a physical exam, lift test, background check screenings, fingerprinting (if your state requires it), online education and on-boarding documentation requirements, TB testing, and completion of an orientation day. In order to become employed you must be willing to complete all of these requirements.
Sprenger offers free online CEUs through our Sprenger Education site. On occasion we may offer live CEUs as well. Please refer to individual facility and department specific personnel for more information on CEUs.
All candidates must be 15 years of age or older.
